GOVERNANCE FOR GOOD

Mark Light zeroes in on the obstacles
to good governance.
Alice Korngold, Former President and CEO,
Business Volunteers Unlimited

Governance for Good is the perfect presentation to revitalize your board and set the take your board to the next level. In Mark Light’s interactive and entertaining presentation, participants will discover the seven realities of nonprofit leadership and five questions that tackle them head on. Based on his popular new book, Results Now, Governance for Good is fast-paced, filled with eye-opening information, and practical. Takeaways include rich networking opportunities and an easy-to-use board assessment tool.

Governance for Good can be done as a keynote or a 90-minute in-depth presentation that begins with the common complaints about boards. Participants then learn about the seven realities and then evaluate their own boards using a simple assessment tool. The presentation ends following a discussion of solutions and the five questions that build governance for good.

A half-day Governance for Good workshop can also be delivered for the board and key staff to work together to address the two questions that build a strategic board. First, Who does what covers delegation (jobs and conduct for the board and committees, board member, and executive director). Second, Did it happen covers accountability (agendas and assessment).

Thank you for the tremendous job
facilitating our Board retreat.
You hit it out of the ballpark.

Drawing on more than twenty years of experience, Mark gives people a down-to-earth, practical process that lets them truly imagine the future they want and then make it a reality. Based on his new book from John Wiley & Sons, Results Now enables an organization to craft a master plan containing purpose, strategy, operations, and governance elements to get it right by asking the right questions. It’s a uniquely flexible blueprint that will at last connect your vision about where you go tomorrow with your work on what gets done today.

This presentation can be done as a keynote or a 90-minute presentation that includes a specific step-by-step review of the process. In addition, participants will reformat their organization’s mission statement to be more actionable, create new board duties and guidelines, and learn a lighting-fast facilitation method.

A full-day workshop can also be delivered that covers all four Results Now elements and leads to a complete Master Plan. The workshop includes coaching for pre- and post-workshop tasks that are the agency's responsibility.

I sing its praises to our funders.
Ann Granger, Former CEO, Buckeye Trails Girl Scouts Council
